The Basic Life Support (BLS) course not only trains you to resuscitate a victim in circulatory arrest but can also prevent the onset of this condition. External bleeding and shock, for example, can lead to severe circulatory and respiratory problems. The BLS course will prepare you to react correctly in the event of an accident.
The course is also open to non-divers, considering that an accident with a cardio-respiratory arrest can occur on the street, at home, and in any other workplace and leisure area.
In addition to the canonical first aid courses, BLS, BLS-D, and Oxygen First Aid, we are able to train divers who are aware and capable of reacting to any situation.

Basic Life Support & First Aid
Basic Life Support & First Aid The Basic Life Support & First Aid course represents entry-level training designed to educate individuals in providing basic life support techniques to adult victims of life-threatening injuries while the local Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is activated.
BLS consists of several first aid techniques – “First Aid”, designed to maintain (or can bring back) life. At the end of the course, the BLS provider will be able to recognize an emergency, activate the EMS, and provide an early BLS, while awaiting the arrival of an AED or Advanced Life Support – “Advanced Life Support (ALS)” on the scene of the ‘accident.
At the end of this program, BLS-D & First Aid, you will be able to:
- Explain basic anatomy and physiology.
- List the 4 links of the “chain of survival”
- Explain why basic life support is important – “Basic Life Support – BLS”
- Say what the purposes of BLS and resuscitation are
- Recognize the hazards and perform an environmental safety assessment
- Protect yourself from the transmission of infections
- Describe the function of heart compressions and ventilations
- Explain how gastric distension is avoided
- Check the state of consciousness
- Reassure an injured person
- Open the airways
- Check if breathing is normal
- Activate the EMS
- Perform cardiac compressions and artificial ventilation – CPR
- List the benefits of a face shield and resuscitation mask
- Explain the benefits of oxygen during resuscitation
- Explain the importance of defibrillation
- State the most common causes of suffocation
- Describe the differences between severe and mild airway obstruction
- Provide choking relief
- Explain why an unconscious, breathing victim must be placed in the safety position
- Place an unconscious and breathing person in the safety position
- Describe the function of the blood
- Provide assistance for (severe) external bleeding
- Explain what shock is
- List at least 3 causes of shock
- List at least 7 signs of shock
- Rescue injured people in shock
Certification: achievement of the objectives set by the course program.
One of the most important applications of oxygen is in the therapeutic, hospital, and underwater fields. The administration of oxygen is the main intervention for underwater first aid, while hyperbaric oxygen therapy is the use of 100% oxygen at a pressure higher than the atmospheric one. Through hyperbaric oxygen therapy, it is possible to cure and/or accelerate the healing processes of a long series of diseases of various kinds including underwater diseases. Being considered and used as a drug, oxygen, in the hospital setting, after being produced, is treated, analyzed, delivered, and released to health facilities under the responsibility of the company that produced it. It must have a Marketing Authorization (AIC) linked to the type of storage (cylinders, tanks, etc.), and also for home therapies it must be administered under a medical prescription, which indicates the methods of administration, dosage, and duration. As for the administration of oxygen during an underwater emergency, due to a diving accident, the administration of oxygen, even 100%, is recognized.
